Are you interested in applying for ARC (Appalachian Regional Commission) POWER or INSPIRE funding this year? Did you apply unsuccessfully last year and plan to revise your application and try again this year? Have you been considering applying for ARC funding but could use a little support in putting together a competitive application?
The Hub and the Benedum Foundation are partnering with WV Partnership for Health Innovations and the WV Grant Resource Centers to offer training on developing ARC POWER and INSPIRE grants. This training will include presentations from ARC national staff, as well as event partners on how to put together the strongest ARC applications possible.
The four-hour training will be held in downtown Charleston, at the Kanawha County Public Library, on March 1st.
Register for the event here.
At this training, participants will:
Learn about previous successful POWER and INSPIRE grants and build an understanding of what projects ARC typically funds.
Learn about the new WV Grant Resource Centers and the support they can provide for federal funding applications.
Receive a deep dive into the POWER grant program and its Request for Proposals (RFP), understand exactly what the application is requiring, and receive a Timeline for Grant Development.
Receive information on the INSPIRE grant program, including an Application Checklist and tips on building a competitive proposal.
Build a strategy to take their proposal from good to great, including identifying key partnerships they need to succeed, creating a grant development plan they can execute, and understanding where the weak spots are with their proposal.
Leave with a clear understanding of how to submit the strongest proposal possible, and knowledge of whether a planning grant or implementation grant is right for them.
Participants are encouraged to bring their project team to the training. This training is in person only and will not be recorded.
POWER Application Support
The Hub and the Benedum Foundation have been partnering since 2018 to support organizations that have received or are applying for POWER funding from ARC (the Appalachian Regional Commission).
Our primary goal is to ensure that West Virginia has the largest and most competitive pool of POWER applicants each year and that our state receives the most POWER funding. Our state as a whole has been successful in these efforts, with West Virginia receiving 99 POWER grants since 2015 (25 more than the next closest state, Kentucky).
In 2023, our program is focused on supporting POWER applications during the Spring 2023 open application period, and preparing applicants later in the year for the 2024 application period.
The Hub provides support to ARC POWER applicants through structured trainings, access to online resources, written feedback on proposal strategies and application concerns, and one-on-one strategic coaching.
Interested in receiving support for your POWER Application?
For groups that are interested in applying for ARC POWER funding in Spring 2023, The Hub is providing written feedback on application questions and concerns. Simply complete the POWER Application Support Form to share your questions and concerns.
Applicants can also register for a one-on-one coaching call through The Hub’s POWER Support services but are required to submit a project Executive Summary in order to access individual coaching.
