Last week, we highlighted the Facebook group WV Food ER 2020, a virtual statewide community group that has become a key tool in connecting resources and information to our most vulnerable residents. (Read last week’s story about the formation of this group here!)

Recently, the organizers of the group took another leap forward in helping ensure our most vulnerable are cared for with the creation of a website, Rapid Response WV, which is another incredible example of how communities are taking care of each other in this time of crisis.

You can find the website here: https://rapidresponsewv.org/

Rapid Response WV offers multiple avenues to connect people with resources. Through this site, anyone can view available resources or request direct support, engage as a volunteer to help gather and distribute resources, or offer resources of their own to go to those in need. The site also links to CDC guidelines on what to do if you feel sick.

One of the highlights of this website is how anyone can view the resources and providers that exist throughout the state. Rapid Response WV has documented 222 organizations across the state offering resources and support during this time and people can search for opportunities on a county-by-county basis.

Thank you to all of the organizers, volunteers, and resource providers who are working tirelessly to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of our communities.
