Lauren Brennan is the AmeriCorps VISTA for the West Virginia Community Development Hub. She is working to build capacity throughout the State of West Virginia by developing the West Virginia First initiative. The mission of West Virginia First is to connect and promote West Virginia local economies; to embrace local ownership, the beauty of the West Virginia landscape, the Appalachian culture, and the unmatched energy and pride of place of all West Virginians in order to bring community visions to life.
Lauren graduated from West Virginia University in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and again in 2013 with a Master’s degree in Public Administration. She has worked with the Sunnyside Up Neighborhood Revitalization Corporation and as an Outreach Coordinator for the Power of 32, a regional visioning initiative. Lauren worked as an intern for the Hub during the summer of 2012 and looks forward to continue working for communities throughout the State of West Virginia.
Lauren currently resides in Morgantown where she participates in the Mountain Peoples Co-op, a local food cooperative, and teaches yoga at Power Yoga Morgantown.
