The Hub is involved in development with communities all over the Mountain State. Find out more about any of our efforts by clicking on the links below:
TTTA is a collaborative initiative with WV Focus Magazine, West Virginia Public Broadcasting and the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation to work with two communities in the state, Matewan and Grafton, to identify community development projects and implement them in a year’s time.
The policies and philosophies behind government in communities shape the character of those communities and push them towards success or keep them from fully developing. At the Hub, we believe teaching people to engage in policy making and investing in policy advocacy are key pieces of ensuring thriving communities.
The Hub began its work by gathering stakeholders in communities, helping them to work together to prioritize development, identify attainable goals, recruit community volunteers and implement plans. We work with more than 50 communities in West Virginia on various initiatives to make them stronger.
West Virginia is at a crossroads where the economy that has sustained its people for years is on the decline. The Hub is working with a large number of partners to engage the state’s citizens in discussions about the future, share ideas and connect leaders in order to develop a new plan for where the state will go next.
