Are you interested in flexing your policy making muscles?
Undergraduate and graduate students* are invited to the Summer Policy Institute where you’ll learn from leading policy experts and actively build and pitch policies related to real challenges faced in West Virginia. The Hub is part of a supporting network of partners who are offering participants the chance to:
Learn about policy issues impacting all West Virginians
Network with fellow students and statewide policy leaders
Prepare for your future in a policy- related field
This year, SPI will focus on the criminal justice system, examining challenges and opportunities for WV to improve the lives of citizens through policy change. Speakers and experiential learning objectives are designed so that students will build skills that have a broad range of applications across policy related fields. In other words- SPI is still for you, even if you’re not intending to work specifically in criminal justice.
Participants will join forces to develop policy solutions to real challenges and pitch them to policy making professionals- a prime opportunity to build relationships with and get your ideas in front of the people who are making WV’s policy decisions.
SPI will be held from July 26th – 28th, at West Virginia State University in Institute, WV. Tuition is free and applications are being accepted until April 30th. You can apply by visiting www.wvpolicy.org or by calling Kelly at (304) 612- 4180.
