Wild, Wonderful West Virginia — the state’s tourism bureau — has announced that a film featuring the Mountain Music Trail will premiere on West Virginia Public Broadcasting at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 3.
Viewers will have a second chance to catch the five-vignette special on April 15. Both broadcasts will air on West Virginia PBS’s main channel.
The Mountain Music Trail consists of venues in five counties in the eastern part of the state along the U.S. 219 corridor. Tucker, Randolph, Pocahontas, Greenbrier and Monroe counties joined together to form the trail as a vehicle through which they can promote and present the traditional music, dance and folkways of the Allegheny Mountain region.
The film project is the result of a partnership between the tourism bureau and Mountain Stage, a production of West Virginia Public Broadcasting, which sent a team on the road to “capture the essence of the trail…”
