BY DAN TAYLOR, ENERGIZING ENTREPRENEURIAL COMMUNITIES PROGRAM COORDINATOR, THE HUB
Ever wanted to own your own business? Ever thought about being an artisan baker?
As Program Coordinator for the Entrepreneurial Communities program here at the Hub, I get the pleasure of talking to and working with rural entrepreneurs all the time, a role that someone needs to fill in every community in West Virginia if we want greater economic success. And one big piece of the this is assistance with small business transition, so that rural communities can keep their businesses, entrepreneurs can retire and new entrepreneurs can get a start.
So, on that note, the dream of owning a business and being a baker could be yours! The owner of Jeff’s Breads, an artisan bakery in Greenbrier County is retiring and wants his business to be your business. After more than 25 years doing this work, Jeff wants to move on, but doesn’t want West Virginia to lose what he has built, so instead would love to see it transferred to a new owner or owners to carry it on.
Providing the European style, artisan breads and other baked goods to the Greenbrier Valley, Jeff’s Breads is currently located 20 minutes north of Lewisburg in Renick. Jeff’s Breads are available in Lewisburg at Edith Store, The Bakery and more. You can also find a large selection of work at the local Lewisburg and Greenbrier Valley Farmer’s Markets.
