Are you someone who desires to inspire? Do you want to help build strong communities with strong leaders? Do you like supporting passionate people and important community projects? If so, you sound like the perfect candidate for The Hub’s Community Engagement VISTA position!
Cultivate WV and Blueprint Communities are two programs through which The Hub supports West Virginia communities who are eager to make their towns better places to live, work, and play. The communities of West Virginia have a lot to offer: tourism, agriculture, tech, arts, outdoor adventures, and so much more.
The Hub staff and VISTAs support communities through the process of identifying revitalization strategies and projects, developing the skills needed for strong leadership and team-building, and connecting to the resources and expertise needed to accomplish their goals.
Working out of our Grafton, WV office – with carpool possibilities from both Morgantown and Clarksburg – you can use your skills in creative writing, community engagement, communications, and research to support The Hub and help make change for WV communities!

About the position:
The Community Engagement VISTA Member will build the capacity of the West Virginia Community Development Hub, specifically in the North-Central portion of the state. The Community Engagement VISTA will support community engagement, project development, and team development activities in the communities of Cowen and Moorefield in the Cultivate Program as well as the communities who will be participating in Blueprint Communities in North-Central WV. The VISTA Member will support communities by building local and regional technical and funding resources, establishing communications networks, and assisting in the development of tracking program progress. The VISTA member will gain experience serving both from behind the scenes and right alongside the communities engaged. As a result of the VISTA Member’s service, more communities and organizations will have built the skills, networks, and resources needed to become sustainable in their success, accomplishing revitalization goals well into the future.
