Since we began our search for West Virginia’s local businesses that go above and beyond in supporting their local community, we’ve received a lot of great “shout outs” from appreciative customers and citizens.
If you want to show your appreciation for a locally-owned business that does a great job of giving back, tell us about them here and enter a drawing to win one of four gift vouchers for a spectacular 3-course dinner by one of West Virginia’s best restaurants during Charleston Restaurant Week.
Sarah in Parkersburg entered the draw with a pat on the back for Kinship Goods in Charleston.
“Kinship Goods is run by the best kind of people,” Sarah told us. “While I am not native to Charleston (and therefore, they aren’t as “local” to me) I am continuously impressed by the business they run, and the kind of people they are.”
“When the floods came, they sold shirts to raise money for the effort – and they sold a TON of shirts, raising a significant amount of funds. They help out their fellow neighbors, they promote the best of the state, and they sell quality, handmade products. I truly believe Kinship Goods is one of our state’s best small businesses.”
Judy had some terrific things to say about the PM Company, a real estate services business in Parkersburg.
“The PM Company works hard to be a great corporate citizen,” she said. “Among their many efforts is their annual “Spirit of Giving” project. The company annually selects several different charities as beneficiaries and then hosts an awareness event to raise attention to those charities. The PM Company challenges its suppliers, customers and tenants to give and it matches all gifts. This year’s event raised more than $60,000 for the good of our area.”
It feels great to praise people who truly deserve it. And we will thank you by giving you the chance to win a free dinner during Charleston Restaurant Week!
