The more than $25 million in improvements underway at Cacapon Resort State Park near Berkeley Springs, W.Va., have been “a long time coming … that’s just all there is to it,” Gov. Jim Justice said at a ceremonial kickoff for the project on Friday.
Contractors began moving dirt about two weeks ago to add 78 guest rooms, dining room, lounge, spa and indoor pool to the park’s 48-room lodge, West Virginia Division of Natural Resources Director Stephen McDaniel said before joining Justice and other officials for a ceremonial groundbreaking.
Other upgrades to the lodge, including remodeling each existing guest room, creation of new conference space, lobby renovations and upgrades to utility and electrical equipment…
