BY DAN TAYLOR, ENERGIZING ENTREPRENEURIAL COMMUNITIES PROGRAM COORDINATOR, THE HUB
This year, we’re celebrating communities. For 10 years, the team at the WV Community Development Hub has worked alongside communities in their community development efforts. We want to celebrate the amazing successes we’ve seen over the past 10 years with you. Apply to receive funding to document and celebrate your community with a $500 micro-grant from The Hub.
Applications must be submitted by July 10, 2019.
What can the grant be used for?
- Any celebratory event or activity: We want communities to come together to celebrate the positive changes that arise from working together. This might look like an ice cream social, a block party, or a series of smaller meetings/events.
- Promotional materials for your community: Spread the word about your community development successes with long-term signage, graphic design, web content, or videos. Promotional materials for individual events are not eligible.
How can I increase my chances of being awarded the grant?
Collaborate with fellow community members! The more organizations who sign on as project partners, the better the chances are of the project being funded. We want to fund inclusive and welcoming events and campaigns.
Eligible communities must have participated in one of The Hub’s community coaching programs between 2009-2018, including: Alderson, Anstead, Bellington, Bluefield, Buckhannon, Chester, Clay County, Cowen, Danville, Doddridge County, Fairmont, Gilmer County, Grafton, Hinton, Lincoln County, Madison, Marlinton, Marshall County, Martinsburg, Matewan, McDowell County, Moorefield, Mullens, New Haven, Princeton, Richwood, Ripley, Ritchie County, Salem, Shinnston, Sophia, St. Albans, Wayne County, Weirton, Whitesville, Williamson, and Wyoming County.
