The launch of new air service to the Greenbrier Valley Airport could help grow tourism efforts in the Southeastern portion of the state.
The airport’s new deal with United Airlines affiliate SkyWest will premier nonstop flights to Chicago and Washington DC this spring, making local treasures like Lost World Caverns, the Chocolate Festival, and the Greenbrier River Trail even more accessible to visitors.
Increased numbers of visitors will feed the already growing number of small businesses in the Greenbrier Valley.
Airport manager Stephen Snyder expressed his excitement over the new service in an interview with Metro News. Said Snyder, “I think what West Virginia needs to realize, is we’ve got something exceptional here and it’s time we start believing in ourselves.”

Flights to and from Chicago and DC will begin on April 3, 2018.
