BY DAN TAYLOR, ENERGIZING ENTREPRENEURIAL COMMUNITIES PROGRAM COORDINATOR, THE HUB
Do you have a passion for community development and supporting local entrepreneurship in West Virginia? Want to get involved in assisting communities on a path to greater prosperity? If so, the Hub has a new AmeriCorps VISTA position opening up for the next year for our Energizing Entrepreneurial Communities program.
The position would be based out of our Charleston office, and the VISTA would be working primarily with communities in Boone and Lincoln Counties to create a greater culture of support for locally based entrepreneurship.
See more information about the position below and reach out if you have interest or questions! Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Energizing Entrepreneurial Communities (E Communities) VISTA member will build the capacity of the communities enrolled on the West Virginia Community Development Hub’s E Communities program, specifically serving in Lincoln and Boone Counties. The VISTA will develop and implement measures to promote and ensure successful implementation of this program for creating (1) better community-based support for entrepreneurs, (2) celebration of their success, (3) capacity to tackle challenges, and (4) a culture where entrepreneurship can flourish. As a result of the VISTA member’s service, these communities will have potential sectors identified and resources to support implementation for needed entrepreneurship growth and development. The VISTA will conduct media outreach, learn and implement community coaching skills, and (most importantly) work with community teams to build program sustainability.
