This event was first held in September of 2016. Planning for ArtStock began in early summer. Princeton’s RiffRaff Collective made a stop in Grafton as part of their Create Your State tour that April, and their work with the community inspired the idea.
In August of 2016, only one month before the event, the passing of a dear friend and mentor to many, Larry “Butchie” Bartosh, stunned the group. Larry had a vision of a vibrant and thriving arts community in Grafton and strongly supported the idea the group had established. It only seemed fitting that the group dedicated ArtStock, a day of celebrating all things creative, to Larry.
In memory of Larry and in an effort to grow our arts community in Grafton and Taylor County, ArtStock will continue on each year.
This year’s event will again feature a large blank canvas where attendees can paint and be creative along with classes throughout the day where attendees can make and take home their creations.
The group is planning some fun surprises in addition to bringing back last year’s creative activities, but you’ll have to attend to find out what they are! As always, we will have a variety of vendors on site selling and displaying their art for everyone. Event t-shirts are available for pre-order.
Follow our event page on Facebook for t-shirts and stay up to date on event information and activity schedules.
