Reta Griffith has been an elected County Commissioner in Pocahontas County for over 10 years. In addition to currently serving on the board of the WV Community Development Hub, Reta has served on numerous boards including the Pocahontas County Senior Citizens, EMS Board, Tourism Board, Board of Health, Regional Planning and Development Council, Economic Development Boards, and Emergency Planning.
She also serves as a Board Director for the County Commissioner’s Association of West Virginia and, Vice-Chair of the Public Lands Committee for the National Association of Counties. Reta is a 2002 graduate of Leadership West Virginia, attended NACO’s NYU County Leadership Institute in 2006, and has participated in the WVU Local Government Leadership Academy.
Her formal education includes two BA’s from Berea College and graduate studies at The College of William & Mary. Reta resides in Marlinton where she is the mother of two wonderful children and volunteers with many local groups.
