The West Virginia Grantmakers Association, in partnership with the West Virginia Community Development Hub, will be hosting a series of meetings in June to explore the creation of a statewide non-profit association, and they are encouraging non-profit organizations of all sizes to attend one of the meetings.

Woodlands Development Group is hiring an Americorps VISTA volunteer to serve for a year starting in June. The VISTA will help coordinate the process of LEED certification for the first LEED for Homes certified home in West Virginia. The VISTA will be working out of the Woodlands Development Group Office located in Elkins, WV.

The W. K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF) believes that for significant positive change to occur for rural people and communities that there must be action in the policy arena. In 2006, when WKKF rolled out the Rural People, Rural Policy initiative it created seven Rural Policy Networks where that policy activity could take place.
