West Virginia Community Development Network Meets April 28th

Do you care about West Virginia communities? Do you care about the quality of life in these communities? Is there an aspect of community development that you are passionate about? If so, join the West Virginia Community Development Network meeting on Wednesday, April 28th, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Bridgeport Conference Center. This is a great opportunity to network with others who share your passion, and to put that passion to work in communities across the state of West Virginia.

In the past few months, the West Virginia Community Development Hub surveyed Network members and conducted extensive telephone interviews to discover what should be offered during the upcoming Network Meeting. As a result, the focus of this meeting is to put networking to work for West Virginia communities and community development stakeholders. Both structured and informal networking opportunities will be available over the course of the day.

In the afternoon, participants will meet others in several particular fields of interest when niche networks are convened to explore the options to collaborate in these special topic areas. Examples of niche network topics include local foods, sustainability, and tourism.

Beyond developing new networks and envisioning the opportunities that arise from new collaborative relationships, participants are invited to share what they do through exhibits and distributing printed materials. There is only a limited number of tables available, so participants are required to request a table when they register.

West Virginia is entering a period of transition and faces conditions that could result in dramatic change. This change brings the opportunity to launch West Virginia toward a new economy characterized by creativity, diversity, and sustainability. Please come to celebrate our communities, and to actively collaborate to ensure that upcoming opportunities for progress do not slip through our fingers.
